So after being on holiday for a while my car battery has died, it was already on its way out before.
I need a new one by tonight, I've been trying to get hold of a Bosch S5 096 but literally no one stocks them around here. I've tried Halfords and three other small local shops.
Halfrauds said they could sell me an own brand one for £114, the Bosch battery is about £88. Some other local shop said they could do me a Banners battery with a 100 rating for £51.
I would much rather get the Bosch S5 096 as it seems so highly suggested on here but I need it within the next few hours.
What would you say to do? Are the other batteries really that bad compared to the Bosch one, whats a good replacement? Shall I just jump the car for tonight and hope I'm alright.

Have you tried ECP?
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is
Just got off the phone with ECP, I had no clue they had a store in Chelmsford (relatively close to me). Thanks for the suggestion.
So now that I have this battery sorted are these Bosch batteries really that much better than other brands?
Thanks beemerbird

I usually buy car battery's from my local motor factor. They offer a two or a three year warranty...same battery, but the three year one costs more...
The last 'two year' one is now quite happy and three years old.
