I ordered a new key with a light from the dealer a week or so ago. They quoted me £31 (ish).

Went to collect it this morning and they only charged £15. So did I get a bargain or was the quote they gave me wrong?

Fair enough.

The new key's profile is quite different to the one I have (a cheapo non genuine one). Works fine though.

No, it came cut for my locks.

I was pretty sure my locks had never been changed and fortunately I was right!

You got any pictures of the actual key? And maybe a Part number? Might have to order a couple new keys with my next order

The part number on my invoice is: B51.21.1.151.006 and is described as: 091657/Key, £15.12 inc. vat.

Looks like this:

The girl who served me at Coopers Sevenoaks said it was the cheapest key she has ever sold, but they are a Mini dealer so she probably usually just sells expensive keys to mini owners.

That's because your passat key will have electronics in the back section - that will need to be programmed. The bmw key is very basic.
