I don't know your knowledge of these beasts so id recommend you take someone who knows where to look for the usual rotten parts!
Dont know if i would want to travel to Ireland to potentially be disappointed with a rotter lol
good luck with buying a decent one!

Trying to avoid travelling too far if possible as i'd be bitterly disappointed if i turned up to a rotter, but also willing to travel for the right car! I've Read through the article about what to look out for and where to look for rust so im hoping that will stand my in good stead! Another ive spotted is this: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... iment=true

The Irish one appears to have a very low (500 rpm) idle - they normally idle at around 700rpm.

And dont be afraid to pull back the boot carpet for a better look, and take a torch and give the arches a propa going over!
Last thing you want to do is buy a "minter" then realise its a bad apple when its too late!

Hahah. The 2nd silver one was discussed on the forum only the other day. Nothing bad was said about, it so that might be a better bet to have a look at.bab-91 wrote:

Like fastroad said, get some detailed pics, if someone wants that sort of money they should be prepared to remove any bit of trim, carpet or inside arch liner and take a pic. Just ask, if refused then you probably saved yourself a journey.
