hi,
I've just been offered a 325i alpina, 4 door saloon, red,72,000mls,heated seats, has the gold pinstripes down the sides, its a 1987 'd' one owner from new, i have the reg and vin numbers, just need to know is there anywhere i can check it is a genuine alpina?
im 99.9% its a genuine, the old couple bought it new from specialist cars stevenage, it then went to sytner for work, the owners husband has died and she wants to sell it to me, i gave her my number some years back and told her to ring me when she wants to sell,
what do you think i can get for it selling it on?
its a very good example and very clean, always garaged
spoke with a guy from hero classics and he thinks between £10-£15k
thanks

Okay. Firstly, I believe that all English alpina conversions were done by Synter. Get onto them and they'll be able to confirm the car's legitimacy. Sounds like it's a real one though.
Secondly, as per the post above, there will probably be a lot of people on here wanting to buy it, so people suggesting values may be trying to get themselves a deal.
I have a four door c2.5, with exactly the same mileage from 4 previous owners (2 being a couple).
I value mine about £6k, but people may not agree. However, I wouldn't sell it for £6k, I'm keeping it.

It would need to be something very special. If it was warranted mileage, unwelded and totally original then it's got half a chance with a good trailing wind.

sounds to me like she be doing the ripping off with this rusty mooredoor on 17bks with tech 2 spoiler and ebay alpina badges
It was this bit that made me think it: "what do you think i can get for it selling it on? "gooner1 wrote:I,m confused, where abouts in this thread does the OP mention

he is saying what Benhar thinks exactly, hes plastered it all over the alpina forum also in 4 different sections
. they roll with more tact on there but we can let rip a bit more on here
Classic heros are full of sh!t, thats a fact not hearsay so you can forget the 15k price tag they told you. As said its 4dr which doesn't help its cause as doesn't the auto gearbox its the opposite of what people want. But its a quirky cool car to own for your self.
Then we come to moral side of all of it which makes me puke. Why the F**k would anyone want to help a thick profiteering type who wants to take an old ladys pants down and then make money on it and band the whole operation on the internet?!?!
If you had a brain you would of bought the car then tried to cast it off on the internet forums after shafting the poor widow.

Now, there's some assumptions being made here. Firstly, that she's a poor widow. She may be loaded. Poor people don't have Alpina cars stashed away for years. Secondly, perhaps her objective is to be shot of the car, irrespective of the price.Simon13 wrote: Then we come to moral side of all of it which makes me puke. I'm not defending the OP as I think he's gone about the quest for info in a ham fisted and lazy way, just don't agree with him being slaughtered based on a couple of assumptions. Slaughter him based on the facts.

Hi, there are some experts on here with e30s you know who you are Smile, they will hopefully respond. You could check with Sytners Nottingham for Authenticity. With the Vin no's. I have a e36 b3 so not sure on prices but I would say they would sell for over at least 10k but dont take my word for it Smile Good find! hope it works out.
Thanks.
hi,
yes I've spoke to sytners, I'm waiting for some info back, I've emailed matthew stripling from sytner so hopefully he will be able to confirm its a genuine car, i can only say it is as they have had it from new, I'm only buying it to sell it on so if anyones interested let me know, very rare find with one owner!!!!
I can't do screen shots as i'm not clever enough so this copy and paste from the alpina register forum. He only started the same thread in 4 different sections also. This should hopefully be obvious enough for lefties on here.

Even if she is loaded, why would that make any difference?Topblag wrote:Now, there's some assumptions being made here. Firstly, that she's a poor widow. She may be loaded. I agree with Ben and Simon. If he were buying this for himself, then he deserves all the advice he can get on this forum, which is aimed at and full of like minded enthusiasts, not for ops looking to make a fast buck.Simon13 wrote:he is saying what Benhar thinks exactly, hes plastered it all over the alpina forum also in 4 different sections. they roll with more tact on there but we can let rip a bit more on here

The old dear may be loaded, and not bothered about the car, but the fact is the ops isn't looking to do her any favours, either.

Here's another massive assumption.
99.% of people on here, were they offered this at a price
they knew to be way less than it's true value, would not only snap the old
dears arm off, but would then endeavour to make as much profit as possible.
Tell me I'm wrong.

He should buy it first then try and punt it.
And If it was a decent zoner, I reckon it would be bought to be kept, assessed and the fragged.

Your not wrong its the way you go about it that counts, theres no style its just vulgar. We aren't a stupid bunch on here, i've always disliked people like this on this forum. The worst offender? That pillock e30ata gross individualgooner1 wrote:Here's another massive assumption.

You don't blab before the deal is done, it always ends in tears otherwise!
I don't like the moral of if your making money then you just fu*ck and piss on people on the way like alot on here think is normal. Its a forum for us to help each other not shaft each other.
