Yep Houndstooth seats rings to mind!
Bought some houndstooth front sport seats from Adit around a little while ago.
Done the deal and paid top money for spares/repairs seats.
As part of the deal I asked for them to be packed PROPERLY, he was fine with that.
So after having them arranged to be collected, They failed to be collected for a week as there was no one in, Then the bomb shell from Adit the seats have been left outside through the bad weather/rain (Oh shit I think) But he says they have been packed PROPERLY so should be okay.
I took his word for it, They turned up a few days later Looking like this

Soaked with water, and seats damaged more due to the lack of packing
Apparently packed PROPERLY means a couple of BIN bags and minimum tape!
After several blanked pm's he got back to my last message and didn't want to know and blamed me for the courier taking so long to collect?
First time I used ADIT and trusted him as a fellow trader but will never USE him again!

I needed bolsters to be good I knew one side was shot but other 3 was meant to be good due to the way he packaged them 2 of the good bolsters wer damaged.
I couldn't put a claim in via courrier due to the packing either.

how do you pack front seats ?
they weigh over 15kg each and are hard to find a box for. i send mine shrink-wrapped with extra padding around protruding runners and 2dr handles .
it's the spares/repairs part that kills any blame to claim .
every thing i sell has at least one picture or a link to it ,your a trader so apply the rules of practise

As for packing I send a bmw seat out almost every week all over the country, and have never had a come back.
I've sent zoners seats and they turned up 100%
Wrapped up with padding, shrinked and then boxed.
I put extra care in packing regardless if I'm sending it or its being collected by the buyer. a good few hours a day goes in to packing, as I don't want to disappoint any customer, forum member etc.

as most of you are aware, my father passed away recently and i have been clearing out all his possessions, etc from his house as it is now needing to be sold, and this, coupled with working full time plus overtime at weekends has left me no time for zone business (this place is not my life, unlike for some).
of course, no problem whatsoever Alex.
on all my posts, below my sig pic of the four-legged one, is displayed a row of numbers. these are what are known as a telephone number. any zoner is welcome to use these numbers to contact me in a verbal manner, at any time, if for any reason my life is diverted from E30zone, fair enough?

First time I used ADIT and trusted him as a fellow trader but will never USE him again!
bmwmad asked if i had any houndstooth sports seats at all, as he was desperate for some. i said i did have some, but one was very worn out on the centre sections and outer bolsters, but the frame, mechanisms, inner bolsters and "knee-roll" were all ok.
he asked for some photos, which i duly obliged with. i said it was entirely up to him and so his choice. he said he wanted them.
he asked if i could wrap them as he wanted to arrange his own courier. i was ok with that. i wrapped them in bin liners (as weather protection) and left them for his courier to collect.
i even left a note stating the painfully obvious, that the seats were right there ready for collection (as i was at work all day and as far as i am aware, couriers do not require a signature from the sender).
the seats were not collected. i informed bmwmad and he requested that i leave them again for collection. this went on for approx. 3 weeks iirc. i contacted bmwmad numerous times to ask if they could be collected asap as they were in my way and i couldn't be expected to keep bringing them in and out of my house.
i was assured they would be, which eventually they were.
as far as i am concerned the matter was then out of my hands and my responsibility ended there (or three weeks earlier in fact).
what courier he used (probably the cheapest monkeys possible, rather typically) i have no idea or control over. End of!!
first time i have had bmwmad as a customer but shall NEVER sell to him again (did someone mention wheels, radiators?)
yes, thank you Alex, please just phone me, it's sooo much easier. i had "rubbing strip" written in my book, and which i sent to you, but i believe you wanted two(?). i am more than happy to sort. apologies again for the confusion.Altrezia wrote:Can we wait until I've got some money or parts before we turn this thread into a hack job?
I'm only down a few quid so hopefully he'll sort it out when he sees this and we can all be friends.
