I'm about ready to tidy the outer body paint on my
e30. It's a pre facelift 2 door non sunroof chromy
In Dolphin grey.
I've always said I will keep it that colour as it does look good.

Now the time has come though, I find myself looking at everything, I'm loving the white, with red/blue stripes

If you had the choice of a respray, would you keep same colour
Or change?

Let me know your ideas as it will be soon.

Cheers Millsy

If it is a decent standard car and you would like it to retain some value, paint it dolphin. If it is a sorry molested dog paint it whatever you like :)

Matt black :)
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

I think mine may be in the category of "was good, now a modified dog"
It does look nice in dolphin with the chrome and all but maybe a bit too tame
With the mods I have.

Surely need a pic of your car to decide this!!!

As has been said - if it looks decent, keep the delphin!!!
If you've modded it subtly, why not go for a less obvious oem colour, or other BMW hue???
If it's a dog, go mad on it!!!

Could always leave the original paintwork and go with a wrap??? Any colour/design you fancy and it peels off if you want/need to at some point!!!

Probably not an popular view and depends entirely whether you see
your car as an ivestment, or something to enjoy whilst you own it.
If the latter,go for the colour YOU want.

If the former, keep it original. It's only paint at the end of the day.

unlesss the car/shell is fully 100% stripped (which doesnt sound like it will be) and every inch of the old color will be painted- i wouldnt bother, as it will look shite, and always look shite every time you see bits of the old color

delpihin is a great e30 color, keep it.

Poor chromie, looks sad :( I think the flared arches and lowz over black wheels makes look a bit depressed, so yes delphin does look a little drab. I doubt that a purist will be that interested in your car so you may aswell paint it whatever colour you prefer as long as it's similar to a bmw hue and not rampant rabbit purple or the likes.
I would either keep the wheels silver or lose the chrome, there's a bit of conflict of what it wants to be, a bit cluttered, but if black paint the centres black, we know it's a beemer.

Paint it what ever colour you like :D

I changed colour of my touring. PArt of me wishes I never did because i spent a long time googling images and keeping an eye out for nice colours on the road. I think it paid of though for me.

Dolphin is a great colour though! If going for something else get the painter top paint a panel with some colours or get some beer cars painted different colours to give you an idea.
