I have a m52 touring and a 2 door 318is with a m20.
Both cars are no rust buckets but i prefer driving the 2 door but i like the power of the m52 and the suspension set up in the touring.

Here my dilemma .

I dont need 2 e30's and only have room in the garage for one.

Do i

1-swap the engines and suspension over and sell the touring as a 325i

2-break the touring

3-sell touring as is and find another donor car to m52 the 2 door.

Heart says option 1 but due to space/time head says option 2

I prefer the touring! but they both can't die, you need to keep whichever goes on the road!
I'll check with the manager

Im sure the touring would fetch more than enough needed to M52 the 2 door and a bit of profit?

The thing is Dan the touring also has an h&r kit which hasn't seen many miles and an lsd.

I did plan to get pics tomorrow and stick it on ebay with a reasonable reserve and see what happens .

you know both engines and chassis - I would transfer everything over and sell the touring as a 325i

you could sell the touring as is - but then its the hassle of getting another m52 which is known to be good - you can just pull the wiring, drop the subframes and swap it all over in one swoop!

m52 galvinisor FTW 8)

frag the estate and make some wages or put it back to a 325i with the parts you remove from the 318is but you'll need to spend £ on another exhaust for the b25 touring + other odds and ends and hope for a good return on a full car :?

you have itchy spanner fingers dude i can see the symptoms ...

How much would you want for the touring without the engine?

Both cars are nice just depends what you want and it sounds like you prefer the 2door (drives less like a boat around the bends.. Lol). I have had a couple of tourings now but they were just for work use (1 standard and 1 kitted out), needed the larger boot space.

The keeper is more the IS in my opinion

In the long run, model like for for like the 2dr will always be more sought after if in goog condition and ultimately worth more.

The 2dr E30 is the icon shape of range.

Not that I'm biased.... :)

I've not had a 2 doors for awhile Barry and enjoying it more after years of tourings, a 4 door and a cabby :o:

I built the 2 door up from a shell and it's the cleanest on i have seen in a very long time .
