I currently own a 2006 fiesta st in very good condition however was damage repaired, I am currently in talks about directly swapping the car for a genuine 1990 bmw 325i motorsport convertible in average condition. Just wanted to know peoples opinions on whether or not I should go ahead with the deal? What is the average value of the bmw against the st... more or less?

All comments on your views are welcome, the help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

No doubt a 23 year old e30 isnt damage repaired either.

I no little about feckas but a average motorsport cabby is anything from 3-8k, nice ones with lotus white leather and tech 2 kit were advertised on ebay 9k not so long ago.

Depends if you like fixing cars, sweeping up rust, the risk of being late to work, leaking roof etc! Modern cars are far better as an every day car :D

I own a Mountune ST as a daily hack, hard to fault for a car that starts every day, is reliable, doesnt need any serious work, comfortable, heated window screen etc... and can still be fun to drive.

I'd say a E30 is a far bigger gamble money wise and unless its been well maintained wont drive anything like as well handling wise.

Fuel consumption will probably be similar at circa 30mpg, the fiesta will be a bit better but not a lot.

The cars are in the same bracket money wise, either could be worth more depending on condition. I guess yours is £3-4k ? depends on mileage etc but being written off will knock a grand off.

The sensible choice is to probably stick with what you have but then sensible is dull winkeye

would all depend on the condition of the car, if its a genuine motorsport, with complete and nice condition motorsport specific bits/trim, if the leathers all a bit crap and well worn and looks a bit tatty, then it can be expensive to replace an find, if the hoods nice or has issues, and the history- if its a very nice and full history, or none, and if the body work is nice, or not..as paint and rust etc can be expensive

also ask yourself why the person wants the swap, if your cars worth 3-4k , you can get a very nice cabby for that and its winter comming= cheaper prices
