That's how I understood it, hence the reply I made first.

Hey fellas. Basically I bought and paid for the car last year and had an arrangement with the owner that it can stay at his place and rot and it'd be ok as his land was of fair size. As long as it got paid for which it did. Trying to get in touch with him now to collect it and all of a sudden the person on the other end of the phone number is someone who's had this number for "about 2 months" and is from Newcastle and doesn't know what a e30 is. Entirely possible but the same telephone number is only just sold a calypso red rolling shell on eBay with the same number and name (Tim) off a BMW breaker in Shrewsburys eBay username (crmtech)
I have spoken to this breaker who knows this Tim and will be speaking to him for me. In this guys defence, crmtech guy called Chris seems genuine and helpful.
So if anyone knows of this chap, if they could let me know of his whereabouts or get him to call me please. If Tim has sold on again or broken my car then to issue me a full refund.
The car was purchased in Welshpool in Wales. And being from Leicester I can't just visit the place where it's parked up as its over a 100 miles away. And also don't want to get a recovery truck and go in case it no longer exists.
My contact number is 07949 852596
My PayPal is yaseen0001@hotmail.co.uk if he see's this and would like to just quietly return my money. (But bear in mind you have taken my property so factor in my fuel costs when I visited the first time for the car.)
eBay item number for the rolling shell someone here may have bought from him..?

Also in July has been trying to sell E30 REX private plate on swapz.co.uk

Cheers.

Strange how?
I never said its too far. I was simply implying that it's not so local that I can go to do a weekly shop etc and pass by. And now having come to learn of this only yesterday. Need to do this errand on the weekend only as I'm employed.

Strange that you buy a car last year and then wonder why you cant get hold of the owner 8 months later.

Can anyone actually give an indication to the cars and/or persons whereabouts as oppose to what's possibly become of it and how wrong his/my actions are instead? And probe in to reasons and details purely to give their opinion which is actually of minimal use?

The OP is about 12 hours old. You can't expect the zone to come up with the answers instantly, at best somebody may come along and know something, but a little patience is required.
If I was in your situation I'd be driving up to the seller and dealing with it myself. Stand on your own two feet and stop getting uppity with the more than puzzled folk on here.
A little more information may be constructive on your part - where was the original ad, the zone, eBay, where?? Is the reg doc in your name, proof of purchase, an address where you bought it??

I'd say, what you paid for the car is actually what 8 months in storage would be.

Did you not take his address, the address your new car was stored at?

A month to 6 weeks maybe but you can't expect a guy to store a car for 8 months with no communication, no matter how much land he has. To him, you've just disappeared up your own backside, never to be seen again!

Don't explain the phone number issue though. I don't think old numbers can be reissued? Unless he sold his phone and number I suppose.

Friend paid for his E36 and took delivery over the next weekend, just seven days, not months, and he found the car had been really abused, the mid section of the silencer fell off on the way back home, we suspect the ex-owners had really thrashed the car around before handing it over. Sick.
The 316 i took, in the two days between final payment and registration of the paper work, the seller pried open the locked glove box, broke the lock, to get hold of some hidden treasure I'm sure. Adding to my parts woes.

Best to take the car or house or whatever in your possession, the moment you complete the transaction. Have experienced that things are worked upon, or things disappear or not in the condition you had last seen.

when did you last speak to him? did you have regular contact with him?
I know if someone bought a car from me 8 months ago and then left the car sitting for this time I would be a bit peed off

Im sure someone on here who lives near there would have a look for you to see if it is anywhere to be seen.

All is sorted. And if I have had personal reasons of why I haven't been able to collect the car, it does not make me or anyone else retarded.

Some of the people's attitudes on here are fucking disgusting. The guy was looking for help and you give him abuse, no wonder newbies and the like don't stick around on here. Sort your attitudes out.

Hope you get hold of him and get your car soon buddy.
