Unpainted facelift bumpers?

Bought an e30 today that is quite a high spec 325i auto coupe 1988 facelift, but instead of having body coloured bumpers, they are plain unpainted black plastic. Is that from factory or are they bmw replacements that never got to the paint shop?

They would be original. You noticed they also have a textured finish.
