I know there's a couple on here with the BTB manifolds fitted and I'm considering saving up for one but have a question.

I have a 325i with standard BMW exhaust: would I need to buy the BTB downpipe to fit the standard exhaust or will the 6 branch BTB manifold connect ok to the standard downpipe?

Cheers

Do you have a 3 piece system?

Pretty sure as long as yours is a 3 piece ststem, then the manifold will fit fine.

If the standard system it came with out the factory is a 3 piece then it's a 3 piece!

Thanks.

You'll want the BTB cross pipe section and the rear 2 sections of a 3 piece exhaust.

So you are saying the manifold will not fit the standard exhaust and I need to also buy the 2-2 downpip from BTB?

Do you have a BTB yourself? If so what's it like for you?

cheers

Yea I have one, car is yet to get on the road though.

If you look at the BTB manifold you'll see that it completely does away with the down pipe that connects to the down pipe. It is designed to work with the crosspipe.

Pics at the bottom of this page so how BTB does away with the standard down pipe. http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... #Manifolds

Thanks for your reply but I am completely confused!

If I buy the BTB manifold do I need to buy anything else for it to fit my standard exhaust in your experience?

The BTB comes in 3 bits, and will bolt straight up to a 3 piece exhaust system.

We'll see, the quote I got back from BTB yesterday was £752.91 + VAT

No doubt you get what you pay for and it's a quality item.

So the cross pipe is just a direct replacement for the front section of the 3 piece and isn't actually needed to get it to fit?

Not really, the 3 sections of the BTB, front 3 cyl, rear 3 cyl and the X over pipe directly replace the original log manifold and down pipe. The X over pipe is very much needed and is sold as part of the manifold, other wise the welder has to come out :D
