Bronzit went in for its MOT game of roulette today. Got a call from the guy-
As he drove it up the ramp he 'caught' it on the lip of the brake pit, cracking the sump!
So even if it fails when its tested its got £95 of new sump and £10 new gasket on it!
Its not that low so not sure how he did it....
Poor old girl.
MOT 'fail'- but not the usual type...

Well, still not MOT'd
Same garage that has MOT'd for the last 2 years, now cant get the car onto the brake rollers as its too low...
It cant have settled that much in a year can it? No cracked springs.
The saga continues....
Have left it with him to figure it out

I think the backs were 30mm drop, the fronts not sure
but it got on the rollers ok last year-
I think he is just being over cautious as he has already damaged it!

I believe that a part roller test can be done, so the fronts are roller tested and the rear (with LSD) are tested on the road with a decelerometer.HJG-E30 wrote:jmc330i wrote:Tell him you have fitted an LSD, then it won't be brake tested on the rollers.
They always brake tested mine on the rollers
In 11 years of MOTing LSD equipped E30s, none of my cars have ever been on a roller tester. As soon as I mention the LSD, the tester has done a full decelerometer test.
