hey guys
I know the problem is listed in the wikipedia but somethings not right..
heater only blows on full.
so i changed the resister, and the switch. so the only thing left was the heater fan.
the thing that got me confused is. when he put the voltmeter on both the terminals on the heater fan plugs which connect to the fan. on level 1,2,3 was reading nothing. and level 4 it was reading. so it looks like no power is getting to the heater fan on 1,2,3
does any1 know what it could be??

Already changed or not, the resistor pack is likely to be the problem, unless it's a one off, such as a wire to the switch crimped onto the insulation at the factory.

Are you sure you got the correct resistor? I ordered a new one last week from Cotswolds BMW and it was £24 and that's with zone discount.

ive tried the realoem and bminispares but its not listed.
ive got bmw main dealer sending me 3 diff types of resisters to me tomorrow. but a part number would narrow it down for me as well as them

Usual cause of this is a lack of lubrication to the fan bearings.
There's an access hatch built into the bulkhead, then pop the spring clips that retain the housing, lift out the fan unit, clean and oil the bearings.
