To be fair, I've got a baby on the way, and a 2 door wouldn't be practical, it's bad enough having a 6 year old climb in and out of the back.

I would much rather have a more door or a touring E30 than something newer and boring. Don't get me wrong, that will be in addition to my 2 door, not a replacement. 2 doors are nicer, but more doors do serve a purpose other than being rolled off a bridge

Tourings are bad to the bone.. A subtle drop makes them look just right, a tech 2 kit is good too. I've got a Brilliant Red 2 door (rotting in a garage) and a Touring I love them both aesthetically for different merits.

I've got my Tech 2 Sport sat on the drive, when I need a family car later in the year, I'll be selling my Golf daily in favour of a tourer I think

Good choice.. A compromise of practicality but still having fun.. Although I have no kids.. I've already nicknamed the Touring the family wagon, made the purchase more appealing to my girlfriend..

If you need more doors, you buy a touring , simples !. All that extra room for school bags/wheel chairs/roadkill etc
