I was given a rubber boot lip spoiler to go on my lack silver chromie cab, but it's painted blue, it looks factory as the paint doesn't break when squished. So Do I:
A: get it back to rubber or failing that paint it Matt black
Or
B: paint it lach silver
Was it done either way from the factory. Black would look more period. But wondered what other people's opinion would be. [/list]
To colour code rubber boot spoiler or not

I'm not sure if its an se or tech 1. Think it's an se. It would be ok painted with paint that had plasticiser in it. Where some not just black rubber in painted anyway? If I could get the paint off without knackering it, it may work

a tech 1 has black rubber then a painted insert, yours sounds like se/is, i dbout you could strip one of paint to leave a good enough finish with no residue, wonder if its even black rubber undereneath

I had an se spoiler that had cracked and flaking paint. I stripped it back to the rubber but then had to fill it and sand it due to little nicks in the rubber. Then plastic primer and painted it.... then it cracked again. So i've stripped it again.... just waiting to paint it again
I have a feeling it would be an endless cycle.

A tech 1 sounds like the way I want to go, are the mounting holes the same in the boot lid?
I was thinking of trying something like brake fluid to pull the paint off. Shouldn't harm the rubber, as nitro mors will harm the rubber. I may sacrifice this spoiler and test methods of paint removal

Rtaylor2208 has a tech 1 boot spoiler on his cab in his sig pic. Mounting holes are the same.
Personally I thnk cabs look much better without a boot spoiler, I had an SE one on mine and a new spoilerless lid was fitted.

I have never really been fussed about the Tech 1 spoiler....
Would rather have one of those 2 fast 2 furious ironing board type things all day long

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Ta Dah!Rtaylor2208 has a tech 1 boot spoiler on his cab
I have to agree with kedge minus the spoiler looks great on a cab. But I do have a soft spot for the rubber tech 1. Its very 80's, just like the old turd.
