Could someone please explain how you pay as a "gift"?

My account gives me 2 options;

1. Pay for goods or services

2. Send money to family or friends

Can I assume that the send money to family and friends is the gift? What percentage is paid to paypal?

4% - but there is no comeback when payment is sent - sometimes its better to add the 4% and pay as a normal paypal transaction

pay the extra 4 % that way you have insurance,unless your sending it to a family member then option 2
