My friend has just started a E30 UK Owners Page on Facebook, if you could join that would be great!

Here is the link:

Thanks Adam. :D

not sure who is managing the social media for the Zone but it could be better, a lot better. there needs to be a strategy in place rather than the rather adhoc way things have been managed so far.

i run social media accounts for myself, my work and for a couple of my networking/event projects so would be happy to help. if i can get involved in any way then just let me know.

thanks,
rich

Get a FAO up in the FAO to Admin, someone might be able to take you up on that offer. Although you might not get a reply :(

To be honest I don't see the point of having two sources of content, especially not on Facebook.

I for one would not like to be put in a position to have to decline friend requests (my feed is already littered with crap from friends who clearly have too much time on their hands) and to keep checking both sites for adherence to the rules both on here and on Facebook.

agreed on facebook.. i was meaning Twitter mainly, but being open to new platforms and testing the water. facebook is a bit past it and it is better to steer people back to the zone for better engagement rather than duplicating content.

facebook would be about finding and directing new members to the zone, facebook has millions of users, due to its mobile phone apps and millions of users on it who are not really "internet forum" type people, i expect a lot of e30 owners out there too

and facebook is a way to get a lot more exposure to or share, things like pictures for instance

if used and managed correctly and bothered with, then facebook could definatly be a good tool in getting new members to join on the zone, which can only be a good thing

trouble is with facebook, like the ops mate for example...everyone wants to just make their own page up, rather than join and grow the existing ones, which then just makes it really fragmented, and when you look at the e30 pages on facebook. ...they are all just the same with the same/sort of photos and not much else
