At the risk of starting a small argument, I really think some people on here need to get to get of there high horse. So you dont agree with the style a car has been modified or an area that a person wants to change or try something new, so what. Is it really nessasery to be little people on here when all they want is advice. (ive seen this many times, in some form or another)
It aggravates me to see when this happen, if every e30 was back to factory fresh or jacked down on the bumpstops with big wheels then it would be a boring car, this fourm could be one of the best fourms on the net in my opinion with the guys that have all the knowlage and know how (sorry to name names) but brianmooore, ive had several problems that you have helped me with over the last 2 years and your advice has always been spot on (thanks btw :)) and there are many other guys on here that are just the same.

if you dont like what you see because in your opinion it dosent fit your ideal version of an e30, then by all means give your opinion but dont be offencive, how would you feel if the table was turneg????
Even if you dont like it you still have to mostly appreciate the work or imagenation thats gone into the car.

sorry to go on abit but I think this is a black cloud on an otherwise fantastic fourm

I stayed out the spelling and grammar thead so I'm staying out of this one too (with this exception).

Look forward to reading several pages of vented spleen later.

Is there a particular thread here that you have in mind? This place has been a lot more pleasant recently, so I'm not sure what behaviour you're referring to.

The Photo Gallery has got more homo-love than an Amateur Dramatics club :D

it's all a cock comparison excercise, mine's enormous with alpina reps innit.

Next we'll all have to wear an e30zone uniform, and go out to play when the bell goes

The best thing to do, in my opinion, is contribute to the threads you like and ignore those you don't.

lol theres not one in particular, but over the last 6 months ive noticed it more and more , i must admit the spelling thread I believe does come into this area

I think that ive made a valid point in my opinion of course, but if you dont believe so just look at a few of the threads regaurding modifying.

another example is (or now was) steviebmw, ok he had some wacky ideas of mods for an e30 but everytime he posted alot of guys went out of there way to humilate him (and it was just that)when all the guy wanted was advice. Then to top it of a guy on here buys his car and posts videos of him jumping and crashing the car, really a great advert for this forum. i didnt agree with the direction he went with his car but i didnt lay into him for being different. it was uneeded and unjust.

if we didnt have people like that then we wouldent have engine convertion manuals because thats not a standard e30 part (heaven forbid)
we wouldent know that e36 racks can be fitted, how to retro fit aircon systems, try m50 inlets on m52 lumps. All these mods for the e30's had to be tryed by someone first.

ive never understood the statement where for some reason people should respect the work thats gone into it even if it is a pile a stuck on tat.
if its scrap its scrap and if people ask for opinions on the internet they really shouldnt be surprised or offended if not everyone pats you on the back to congradulate you on your achievements.
i took a bit of stick at the beginning for puting a ford engine in mine but those people were obviously idiots so it didnt bother me.

Please don't take this the wrong way, I don't have a better way of putting it, so without being a culprit of tis threads' raison d'etre, personally I'd give up caring, channel your energy into repairing the economy or something that actually matters, world peace, thrid world starvation, the list of priorities in the real world leaves the zone in an uncredited territory.

Without the input of those who are slightly jagged, it'd just be a sterile environment. No single entity can alter the disparate nature of a forum apart from banning perps, leaving those to sabotage, or just feck off in their own direction..

I think there's a line to draw there. When people put in new untested engines or have non-BMW wheels welded and drilled to fit, it draws posts of admiration and praise, because it's finding new avenues for both aesthetic and performance elements of the car.

But when people post pictures of their downright dangerous modifications; cut springs, massive wheel "poke", and poorly welded and bodged repairs (which is where stevie's car drew most of its ire from), then those cars ought to be highlighted; not because it doesn't fit into people's tastes but because cars are the number one biggest killers of all humans under the age of 50, and treating them as shiny toys and nothing else is a rather reckless attitude to have.

And I'll take responsibility for the spelling thread since my actions started it and my responses kept it running, so I apologise for that.

it all starts somewhere, I came on here with the best intentions. After a while of taking crap from well established menmbers (ahum chris warburton, bob_S) I just gave as good as I got, and then some & to hell with the zone image. For a long long while I purposely sabotaged threads due to the treatment I had. It's the internet.

..polite forums often wither, I've been on ones where the fifth columnist types have been banned. It gradually goes downhill from there onwards, you lurk more and post less, check in less often, post without expecting anyone to come back and then eventually...

It's an open forum. Your going to get abuse if people don't like what you have done.

(Actually its quite tame on here now.)
If stevie turned up to a meet or show with his turd he would of been reduced to tears by the volume of abuse :hammer:

Since we're on the topic of abuse.... MODS CHANGE THE SHINY BADGE THING YOU CUNTS

I stand by my statement. The car in question, at first glance, looked in nice condition, but with a rust bonnet, gay wheels, and an even gayer 'stance' - not to mention the typical scene adornments. Hence take a nice car and make it shit comment. If it was indeed a 'shopped picture then fair enough, that person has an imagination to do it in Photoshop. If it was done for real to a nice example car then the tw*t comment still stands also :)
