Had a big accident in my e30 tonight, (hit barriers at 60ish,) and it stood up well, yes the cars a write off but overall I wasn't hurt that bad for a 20year old car they are very tough! Especially as mine was 100% rot free, probably the cleanest I've seen....

I punted mine into the central reservation at about 70 mph and the insurance repaired it For a front end impact a solid e30 is not a bad place to be! A side impact is a different story Glad your OK, did the engine survive?

glad your ok mate, i feel your pain, had an accident myself saturday, old girl went into the side of me, got to say i was impressed by how well the car stood up aswell

this is how far the wheel got pushed back , his foot was wedged inbetween the pedals



also the prop snapped and engine went into rad but engine runs fine

and the roof is creased , this ws 100% clean shell been on ramp ect stripped to try and find rust but nothing no evidence of welding either its a real shame if you ask me

Typical old car damage there where the wheel has pushed back into the wheel housing, new cars are designed so the wheel and suspension assembly will come free. Shame to see a good example written off.

Maybe something to do with the freak weather we are experiencing at the moment, lots of rain, greasy roads.

Bummer. I also punted a Tech 2 Sport into a crash barrier at around 70 mph - the car just bounced off it and ended up on the other side of the dual carriageway.

Walked away without a scratch! Car was written off though.
