Autoglym stuff, I did mine and it still looks superb.

I can second that. I did mine last week with the autoglym spray on eBay and worked a treat.

This (in fact that exact item from ebay) is what I've used on my floor carpet and it has worked great, although I'm wanting to do a couple of coats and one can only does about half a carpet.

If you use it, don't sit in the seat for a few days and dry to have the seat dry indoors, even then it may rub off on you a little. I guess one way to test/avoid any excess getting on your clothing would be to rub it down a few days later with a clean and dry cloth/sponge...worth a shot at least.
