You can find those engines most places, better if you look for an Auto, as they won't have been ragged unlike the E36 ones.george101 wrote:i was thinking of doing the m30b35 but its just getting all the parts together as you dont find them engine everywhere ??Rav335uk wrote:M30b35, forget the 24v stuff
Less to go wrong too, no Vanos, and half as many sensors to sort out too

If you buy an E34 535, you only need a prop from a 325 and a largecase diff, and engine mounts, you can use the rad of the E34.

Why dont you tell the OP how fast your car is, in comparison to any 24v conversion thats run a 1/4 mile.
Oh and dont start going on about having some camping gear and tools in your boot

A large case diff won't go into an E30 without significant modification.

E30 is best suited to a 24v straight six conversion...

Where are there 3 size types of diff fit the E30, as far as I know smallcase 6 bolt, and largecase 8 bolt, no Mediumcase.
That's how I look at it.

Yes Rav but you are special, you think an M30 is fast, FYI BMW diffs come in 3 sizes, which are commonly referred to as small, medium and largeRav335uk wrote:Smallcase diffs and Largecase diffs fit E30's.cecotto479 wrote:A large case diff won't go into an E30 without significant modification.

Small and medium case diffs fit the E30. Large case don't. If you mean get the larger case of the two diff that fit an E30, say that rather than have the OP ask for a large case diff and get teamed with 4 cwt of scrap that won't fit his car.
If someone asks me for a large case diff, I don't ask if Rav sent them.

Look, both of you have a different outlook to the Diffs, I see it as only 2 fit the E30, small and large,
in order to have a medium, then 3 diffs must fit the E30, they DON'T

Rav. Stop being a tit. Everybody knows them as small medium and large. If I asked you for a large case diff, you'd send me a medium case one - not that you'd have one because you're not a trader?

TO buy an S50 off the floor is a risk, a big risk if it's totally fried, best to buy a running enigine imo.Das_BMW_E30 wrote:Get yourself a cheap donk...I know this sold for pennies...

Are you just here to sell a fooked engine? Why do you keep linking to that scrap engine on ebay? Have you ever done an S50 conversion, or even driven one?
