To have something that does not conform to regulations is against the law.
A vehicle, at MoT time, is tested against the regulations, not the laws.

I had yellow lights (lamin-x)
Looked like 4 small bowls of pish and made my HID's look green!
Needless to say I removed the offending yellowness..
IMO leave the lights alone.. Fit bullseyes or smileys and HID's and concentrate on bits of the car that matter!

The yellow with HIDs sounds vile, probably better than standard e30 lights though. Mine are sooo bad, theyv been tinted aswell. its like using a lighter.Tom_Maverick wrote:I had yellow lights (lamin-x)

perfectly legal, I remember a debate about this elsewhere. Go Euro! You can get a numberplate with a Spanish Dealership name on it to complete the look. (and - what I want - some of those plastic guards to go round the windows to stop rain getting on your fag).

They're legal if they are the original Hella versions but if they are tinted with a film over them like Lamin-X they shouldn't go through an MOT according to the new regulations.

When was it tested though, the car in my sig pic went through fine but that was before the recent MOT changes which now ban anything applied to the lenses affecting light output.j2b wrote:mine went through no probsKedge wrote:They're legal if they are the original Hella versions but if they are tinted with a film over them like Lamin-X they shouldn't go through an MOT according to the new regulations.
I suspect many testers will let a lot through though unless it's a really dark tint.

It had yellow full beams as well.
