friends e30 just been hit....

just got a call from a friend, somebody went into the front of there E30 and done the grill in,bonnet wont shut properly, radiator is against the engine. also they can only realy get second and forth gear. they asked me to come on here as they know i'm on here and want to know what damage might have been done, and is it fixable. thanks

Sounds like the engine has been knocked back if they can only get second and forth, probably been ripped off its mounts or cracked the arms.

true, if he gets pictures i'll post them up. but i guess he will know more when he looks in the morning aswell.

more likely the rear gearstick mount has come out the bush

grilles, headlights, kidneys, bonnets, wings, front panels are all available on here
the (welded) slam panel would probably have to be straightened (or cut out and replaced) too by the sound of it

cool, and he has had a look and everuthing seems fine said he cant find the problems with gearbox so might have to take it out. and yeah slam panel will have to be done. also the bonnet still wont line up right. thanks

all thats been checked, the engine had been pushed back though but it's moved forward now the front slam panel has been pulled back out.

any pics ?

i'll ask and if he has i'll get them up tomorrow.

been told it all looks better now, said the wing has been straightened out and the bottom panel done aswell.

yep, but luckily enough chassis rails are fine and all other things that could of been a real problem. as i'm helping him fix it just gotta try and find out whats up with the gearbox and then get new stuff and put back together. they would be doing it but incace the engine and gearbox have to come out there no point.
