Lidl is doing W5 Ecotech 10w40 semi or 15w40 semi 5L for £11.99. Also 5w40 synth for £3.00 1L.
I'm tempted by the 5L stuff, particularly as most oils are 4.5L containers these days, which never seems to be quite enough for a full change.
Any thoughts on who makes this? Any good? For this price (and it's not on offer, it's the usual price) I might get some in.
Lidl M5 Ecotech Oil £11.99 - who makes it? It is any good?

AC Delco is American and it is part of General Motors, they supply OEM and aftermarket parts for GMC,Chevy,Ford, Toyota, Honda and most other US manufactured cars.
their products are of a high standard thus theri oil will also be of high quality...plus all major distributors buy the oil as a raw material from one of a few worldwide suppliers, what seperates the "good" oils from the cheap oil is the additives the "good" companies add.
I use Ac Delco oil in my Durango

Been buying and bringing back a French supermarket own brand full synthetic for many years. It's a 5W-40 which last year was around £17 for 5 litres.
I use it in all my "lesser" engines, such as the M20s and M40s, where it performs faultlessly. I doubt if it's the most advanced stuff on the market, which almost certainly also applies to the Lidl oil, but it's more than adequate for engines that were designed to run on the oils available thirty years ago.
My M50/52s tend to get treated to Shell Helix full synthetic at around £25 for 7 litres, from the same source.
