Sureterm Direct
Performance Direct
Are either of them very good? Admiral decided to be hugely expensive for my E30 Convertible, but the above two companies come in about where i'd expected to be paying.
Anyone use the following two Insurance Companies:

I had a bad experience with Sureterm a few years ago, and there was a thread recently where someone got a dirt cheap quote off them but then a load of bad reviews came out of the woodwork.

e30topless said : Proper BMW's have 4 headlights, last of the run was the E30 and E34/E32 anything after that is just complete shite

I've used Sureterm. I wouldn't use them again.

I have not dealt with them directly but know a few that have. The touble with them comes when you have to make a claim. My brother was with performance direct and got his motor smashed to bits by someone who pulled out in front of him.
Long story short he gave up trying to deal with them because they picked up the phone/answered emails and got nothing for his car.
With all insurance you go outside the well known companies and you are in for a bit of a bumpy ride if you need to claim.
Also on internet quotes make sure that everything is included and that the excess isn't insane. The devil is in the details.

This was myself, I ended up getting fully comp on a classic policy with limited mileage to 3K for just ender £80 after going through Quidco Compare. This includes windscreen cover, couresy car and legal cover. Excess of £100.there was a thread recently where someone got a dirt cheap quote off them but then a load of bad reviews came out of the woodwork.
My car is no minter so basically insurance for me is to make the car road legal.
All insurance companies are out to make as much money as possible so I am under no impression that they wont be a nightmare to deal with in the event of a claim, and if you research any insurance company you will find many a bad review.
If you want a guranteed return in the event of a write off claim which lets face it most E30's would be for even a minor bump your only option is to get an agreed value policy but it will be more expensive and the gurantee is not water tight.

I use Adrian Flux, an agreed value policy with all mods declared.
I think they're reasonably priced and good to deal with. Give them a try, its worth a call . . .

I reject your idea of reality and replace it with my own

Thanks chaps.....
Changed my jag onto a classic policy and decided to put the BMW on my main policy (Admiral)
I'd put my details into Compare the market and was getting quotes (from the two companies mentioned in the original post) for £250 upwards.....
Called Admiral who said they wanted another £170 for the remainder (7 months) of my policy on top of the £478 that i was already paying on my XJ8!!!
So i cancelled that policy (Get a nice £180.00 back, even though i pay monthly instalments) and went to 'continue' with the Performance Direct who were quoting at £278 on
Comparethemarket.com. However when i clicked to go ahead i noticed that the site had me as having an sp30 within the last 5 years, and i don’t have it anymore, so i adjusted the information (and changed nothing else at all) and suddenly they wanted £490.00!!!
Went with Swinton in the end for £320.00 for an all singing all dancing policy.
I have to say though, as a 37yo professional, driving since 93, no accidents full no claims, married, home owner blah, blah, blah with 2 other cars, I am surprised its cost so much???
Now i can start doing some bits and pieces to the car ready for summer (as wasn’t getting the chance to visit where she was stored)

Lancaster and Footman James have both given me really good quotes but I haven't had to make a claim, but on the face of it, they've both been very good. That probably doesnt help you much I'm afraid, but for what it's worth I'd use either again quite happily.

Both Sureterm and Performance Direct are brokers and not actual insurers.
