From my 89 318i, possibly purchased from Cooper - Park Lane, Mayfair, London. I work in Mayfair and the car is parked near to the dealer most days. The photos have inspired me to get some new plates.

CSL on here had some Cooper Thames Ditton plates made up in exactly the same style. He also had the rear window sticker done by Pukar.

Thanks for the heads us Barry, although if its the one on page 2 it doesn't have the cooper laurel on a white background, it will probably save pukar some time when designing based on it.

hi all,

i have tried doing plates, but without serious investment, it will be difficult. sorry chaps. i will update if anything changes. i'm keeping my eye on ebay incase anything turns up. i have tried loadsa companies, but not much luck quality wise so cannot recommend anyone. i have contacted a numberplate company to see if they can work from my designs...if so, this could be an avenue to get plates. i am just waiting for a response.

if i could just find a company to do this, then game on. i posted up a while ago which lead to one dead end and a guy who made the best quality plates i have seen (used to make for TV!) but sadly he was retiring and only made up 1 set for me.

i do have the stickers, for cooper group, including the wreath, so can do rear window, dealer fit alarm stickers and potentially a tax dic as well.

Hi Guys,

New to the forum and amazed by the amount of great info on here. I'm about to embark on a restoration of a 1990 Delphin Grey 325i cab and would like to get some original dealer plates.

Anyone have an pics of Williams of Manchester plates ?

many thanks

Hi there

I've been without an E30 for some years now and have just rejoined this site after not posting since about 2005. I love this database - I've always been weirdly obsessed with dealer plates!

I'm collecting my 4th E30 on Tuesday which still has the original BMW GB plates so I'll get that posted up as soon as it arrives. I've also got photos of my old car which had Snows of Portsmouth plates and sticker - I'll dig them out and get them posted up.

The first E30 I had in 1996 had Whitehouse Ruxley plates - however the rear plate was much larger than the standard plate and really suited the car. I'll try to find photos of it but if I can't, there's an E34 near me that still has the large plate and I'll grab a cheeky snap of it next time I'm passing

OK, as promised a few weeks ago

Whitehouse Ruxley - this is on an E32 and is a much larger plate than standard. I had this on an E30 in the mid 90's, and it suited the car quite well.

Here's a couple I snapped at the Bromley Pageant of Motoring

And this is off my car with old looking BMW GB Plates

I've got a photo of my old car somewhere with Snows of Portsmouth plates and sticker which I'll post up when I find it

Car is up at my mums just now, has plenty more stickers and other bits on it, so will take more photos when I'm next at it. The e36 has some Gatwick stickers and I have the original dealer plates too, don't know if anyone would be interested in those, might be a little too new.

I saw this E36 on a L plate in a car park, on close up its Snows Motor Group wit HGL BMW at the bottom, the front plate is same theme but in white of course.

Thanks for going to effort of posting those pics but the point of this thread is for dealer signage that is contemporary to the E30 when new so these recent ones are irrelevant.

the best thing about Dick Lovett is when ring them up and nice lady with a husky voice pics up and says

"good morning, dick love it"

and you ask her "do you really ? "

childish but funny
Haha .... Have u done that :-) ?

No problem, car is a G reg 1990 and i think its safe to say that was the original plate. It was still on the car when i bought it in 2010. Maybe 1990 will be close enough for you, if not i wish you all the best in finding one from 86!

I also have the door shut sticker [like the post above] still on the car if you want a photo

Would Coopers of Cobham have been New Central Garage in 1984...?

I got a spec sheet on my car from BMW that says 15111 Cooper (Cob) but I thought this was one of the dealers which became a Cooper partner later on.

In any case just want to get the correct dealer name for a 1984 car.
