Thinking of this car but is the mileage correct?

Sounds as though the vendor has paperwork to back it up - the mileage is noted on the MOT, for instance - so assuming that it is on the original engine (which can be checked from the number, presumably) you should be able to establish whether it is genuine or not, wouldn't have to take the dealer's word for it. Cars do come up with this sort of mileage from time to time.

The only way i know of finding if its genuine or not is to remove the clocks and see if the security tags are still untouched.

Looks very tidy, condition of steering wheel, pedals, gear lever and seats all look good,but check closely when you visit.
Front off side wing looks re-painted check on top of the wing to see if the weld between the wing and body is still their.
Check under the wheel arches for rust and in all the usual places.
At this price it should be good.

I honestly dont get why anyone would spend 3k on 318 auto? it may be mint it may be have lower mileage than most but end of day its still 318 auto!

I thought you can only remove the clocks by breaking the security tags as they go through the plugs and the back of the clocks?

ive never seen any security tags on any clocks lol
all of mine must have been taken out before hand then maybe wrong

looks nice, but its had a proper good clean up/detail, and is over priced really, low milage is good of course, but then again the car might not be that brilliant mechanicly where its not had too much use over the years and a lot of original parts underneath...when driven a lot/daily by a new owner, all sort of things might start to go wrong over the next year or 2

agree with above...its nice for what it is, but at the end of the day its still; a bogt standard 318 auto for over 3 bags , and might have rust and issues lurking..

Old Colonels have built their reputation on expensive but low mileage/pretty mint BMW's.

I would expect it to be genuine and without significant issues.

It has a "full bmw service". From the mid 90s, bmw started recording every time a car visits a dealer, the date, the mileage and what dealer. This info is on a database that any bmw dealer can access. You could go to a dealer with the reg number, providing its the original, and they can give you the info.

This car also has the desirable option of BMW BBS alloys, all in lovely condition fitted with the correct quality tyres

And yet the centre cap of the one chosen for the close up looks like it needs a new badge. Good tyre though to be fair.

It's not hard to add either so can't be used to prove anything. When i have the wing changed on my old iS the seal was redone, any decent bodyshop would do that!
