Hi All
ive read alot of the previous posts relating to insurance..etc and adrian flux and peter best seems to pop up alot. Can anyone vouch for them ? ie: anyone had any good/bad experience with these brokers ? , i ask this cos its only when u have a problem and need their help/or need to claim that u see their true colours..... so was just wondering as my ins. is up for renewal now.

I disagree...I had nothing but trouble with Adrian flux!
Avoid like the plague...if you so much as ask them to answer the phone they charge you Ԛ£50!
I had a 3.7ltr dodge dart insured with them, which i sold, when i asked to change the policy for a different car, a 1.7 ltr ford Consul they put the premium up!!!

A woman I work with has a 2.5 nissan thingy and told me to stay away from Adrin Flux, they cancelled her insurance for no reason two months before it was ending and then they wanted her to pay summat like 300 to re-instate it and trying to get through to them was a nightmare she told me.

Adrian Flux are purely a broker on behalf of non direct Insurance compaines. With regards to claims AF can only appear to be as good as the company they respresent. No matter who the broker is you need to be warey of who the policy underwriters are. EG if it's aSabre policy then you might aswell start to cry now..
I worked for many years for a company called MotorCare who represent Insurances in the event of a claim.. MotorCare would purely provide the customer with what the insurance companies policy's offered. We managed the whole process from cradle to grave but WEREN'T repsonsible to the settlement of claims.
This is where insurance companies get their bad names from so be warned..
If you dont like AF the try HIC broker but you'll find that they probably represent the same Insurance companies..

I have the Rieger insured with HIC (Agreed Value) and I just renewed the insurance on my other cab with Adrian Flux. I've been insuring one car or another with them for the last 4 years and i've had no problems with them at all. 
will definately look at that option, but pls explain to me what is "agreed value" as opposed to "market value" which i seem to have on my insurance cert. excuse my ignorrance , i know it does seem self explanatory but just wanted to make sure

Utterly useless, didnt help me when I had an accident, wouldnt return calls. Wouldnt connect me to the right people. And took 6 months to get a certificate. And every month I had to ring them for a new cover note. Despite paying the entire premium in one go up front!
Same thing as Performance Direct.
Best people so far have been Greenlight (though they dont cover M3s) so had to change to Bell Direct. Who have been fantastic service wise!

Dman, most people insure their car for what they think it's worth. Say "Ԛ£10k" cause they always ask you how much the car is worth when you try to insure your car and you think by saying Ԛ£10k that's what you will get if it gets stolen or something, but it's not. What they try to do is give you the book/market value of the car, which could be as little as Ԛ£2k to Ԛ£3k, even though you have the car insured for Ԛ£10k. Agreed value sort of guards againt that, cause you agree the value of the car from the begining. With mine, i had to get the BMWCC to value it to say it was worth what i was saying it was worth. Some places will also get you to have an idependent acessor to value it. You're still not guranteed though, cause my car has cost me about Ԛ£40k, i've tried to insure it for Ԛ£25k and BMWCC has agreed it's worth that much, but my insurance are saying Ԛ£18k, cause they said they dont cover ICE and that's what pushes the car from Ԛ£18k to Ԛ£25k in their eyes, so i'm till wrangling with them. Hope i've helped.

after an accident i phoned adrian flux and was told to sort out recovery myself. the car was a total right off after a head on with a truck and was scattered over 30 metres of the road, i was in the middle of no where and got no help what so ever. even though the other driver admitted fault at the scene it still took 8 weeks for me to get my cheque. every time i phoned i got a different person who would say " its being processed now ,you should get your cheque in 2-3 days" i must have been told that about 5 or 6 times. even now ,6 months on it they are still arguing over recovery costs and ive had my no claims pegged back to zero until its sorted, which has seen my renewal go up by Ԛ£300. their sevice is shite,in my opinion.they take your money quick enough but you only find out how good or bad a company is when you need to claim.
thnks everyone for all your advice , comments and suggestions. I really appreciate it. Its just goes to show how everyone is trying to get your money without delivering the service. I will shop around a bit more and hopefully make a decent chioce. I guess time will tell
