No - he paid £200 for the engine, main engine loom, gearbox and gear linkage - and as he hasnt mentioned any problems with the gearbox, the size of his "problem" is £150 at best.MOODY wrote:
he paid 300 engine box and rad, think hes coming see you soon, you can sort it out with him............
The other £100 he paid me were for other parts which whilst they may be engine related were not part of the deal for the engine & Box - and NO MENTION has been made of any problems with these other parts.
The FS ad Was broken down into individual parts for sale - he wanted them and bought them. He could have bought these bits from anyone else - but they were NOT part of the deal for the engine and box.
It was absolutely clear on the FS ad what was and wasnt included in the original sale. It was also clear in the FS ad from the youtube video that the engine was well maintained and in good working order when removed and collected by AZZA 8 Months ago.
If he wants to waste time and fuel to "come and see me" thats up to him - but I'm not going to waste any of my time arguing any further with him, he wont get a different answer to the one he got on the phone or on here, and he definately won't be going home with any cash.
I agree completely with B7 - this is getting really boring now - if he'd told me there was a problem within normal reasonable timescales ( even though the engine was sold with NO WARRANTY ) I would have sorted it, but after 8 Months he's just being totally unreasonable.
If he really wants to push it MOODY tell your mate to phone me without witholding his number and give me his full name and address - and I'll speak to my Legal advisers about what happens next.

Well that will cost you even more money in fuel and fooking about because Rob has done nowt wrongMOODY wrote:he paid 300 engine box and rad, think hes coming see you soon, you can sort it out with him............capri_rob wrote:4 pages is enough I think - time to wrap this up.
As per my 1st post if the general opinion had been that I owed the buyer something I would have paid him.
As the views of all but 2 ( Azza and his mate ) posted on this 4 page thread concur with my gut feeling that I don't owe Azza anything we can leave it there.
I won't be spending my time and money coming to Stoke to see something which proves absolutely nothing - at the end of the day the engine was sold as all good, in good faith and I had described all the new bits fitted, work done to it and even put a video on the for sale ad to be as fair and transparent as possible with the sale.
If Azza wants to take it further he needs to provide me with his contact details and I will take formal legal advice as I believe I've done nothing wrong.
I don't want to go down the legal route but I will defend myself in this way if necessary as I believe that the engine was 100% sound when it was sold however it was sold as seen and advertised without any sort of warranty given or implied, and 8 months down the line when it could have been incorrectly transported, stored, installed, recommissioned etc any issues occurring now just arent my fault.
I still have the youtube video on my phone which is obviously date-stamped so can confirm the date the footage of the engine running perfectly was taken.
Azza assuming you havent found fault with the 325i gearbox that was part of the £200 deal, that engine at best owes you £150. IF somehow the bottom end is now knackered you will get that back by selling the head and weighing the block in - and you can use the new waterpump and cambelt tensioner on the next engine you buy.
Thanks to all zoners for their input
Just go and buy another bottom end and man up ffs
Here £40 look:

That is if anyone on the zone will deal with you now
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
only if you're the sort of "legal advisor" who explains things to immature illiterates with a baseball bat, in order to put the rest of us out of our miseryhennared323i wrote:Can I be a "legal" advisor

MOODY, is your friend even more retarded and illiterate than you and unable to answer for himself?
Has to be pretty fooking stupid to pay £200 for a 180k engine to then get it fitted by a "Porsche dealer".
Stop trying it on, go get some legal advice and be prepared to be laughed out of court if you go that route. Or "send zee boyz round" over £200 you penniless coonts!

I'm still waiting to hear the results from them taking it to a motorsport garage to get it stripped to fault find!!
Urm, does a Porsche dealer not count then??

Just to clarify few bits of info and some things that have been misquoted in a few posts on this thread :
The engine had done 133k with all old MOT's to back up the mileage, some service history and I have all the receipts for anything I'd spent on it.
The engine flew through the emmissions tests on the 3 MOT tests I put it through with printouts to prove - the most recent of which was about 3 months before sale and the only distance the engine covered in that time was less than 1 mile back to my house after the MOT failure on bodywork.
It was from an August '87 Car so was nearly 24 Years old - I had no evidence it had ever been rebuilt or had any significant work done to it and never said it had - to my knowledge it was a standard original engine.
All the parts I had fitted to it were described on the FS ad, and during my ownership the engine never gave me any trouble - hence why I advertised it For Sale with a video showing it running to prove at that point it had no issues.
At £200 inc the Gearbox it was cheap - mainly because I wanted it out of my garage. If I'd had the space I'd have happily stored it as a spare.
No warranty was ever mentioned on the Zone FS ad or the Ebay ad. No warranty was given, implied or discussed at the point of sale 8 Months ago.
I get the impression that MOODY thinks AZZA "coming to see me " will result in me handing over some cash.
Just to be clear - he will have wasted his time and fuel as that will not happen. I have no intention of having an argument with him on my doorstep when everything that needs saying has already been said on here and in the original conversation I had with him last week.
If AZZA has any intention of "coming to see me" mob-handed using any threatening or intimidating behaviour I will just call the Police.
If AZZA wants to take it further he needs to contact me properly and it can be dealt with through the courts. I have got Legal representation and have discussed it with them already - they have no issues about defending any court action if AZZA thinks this will get him anywhere.
Thanks to all Zoners for their input
Steve Please lock this up now.
