Ford never gave it the "Brooklands" name - its just what it became commonly known as because of the "Brooklands" green paint job. The run-out Capri which this pic is was the Capri 280magpie wrote:a ltd edition caprice is what i remember
I've never heard of any Tuning house called Brooklands.

The only Brooklands I can think of was the capri already mentioned, and the Bentley Brooklands.

But Im pretty sure its not a tuning house, and was only named such in 'honour' of the birth place of motorsport on purpose built tracks.
I reckon this guy has been to brooklands (there IS a BMW/German car meet there I see from google) or there is a ca dealer in the local area who sticks a badge on his cars as a 'dealer special' job.
I reckon if there was such a thing as a BMW brooklands it would be highly saught after, and famous tbh.

SORRY lads i found my answer.
i was a local dealer which for some reason copied the brooklands badge and added the "M" colours and dealt with BMW's only.

The Capri the same colour as Rav's looks lovely!! I wouldn't mind owning that!!
Remember as a kid going into the showroom of our local Hendy Ford and seeing the 'Brooklands' in the showroom- looked lovely, and I said to myself "when I'm older I'm going to have one of these"
Of course I had a succession of old shite followed by GTi's before seeing the light and branching into E30 territory- never even owned a Ford (although wanted a Mk2 Escort as my first car)
Oh well they're shite anyway aren't they?
