I know the difference between leather and vinyl, i have spent days cleaning and prepping these, they're LEATHER, the the same leather as the seats, they're the same leather thats on the rear quarter cards
If you flip one over and peel back one of the edges , the truth will be revealed, post a pic and let us doubters eat our words ! :)
I dont need to peel the edges back, i can see the edge quite easily as theres a fair bit of spare leather on the rear of the cards :)
Well, that settles it for me, definitely leather, 100%. Any chance you can let us know who retrimmed the door cards, as he's done a superb job, looks as good as BMW ever did!

Thats a dissapointing response Jim.

Whoever created your door car is an artist, just like to know who it is, just in case I need one done too.

All i have done if a bit of a dye job on some door cards that were a bit worse for wear that i believe to be leather, bearing in mind these are my door cards and i've handled them and inspected them closely, im not trying to sell them or convince anyone otherwise, and all you can do is leave sarcastic/childish/pathetic (delete where appropriate) comments because your opion differs from mine on a door card you havent even seen in the flesh or handled.

Try a different hobby because the "know it all dickhead" routine is boring :)
I really dislike this nastiness that seems to exist here these days. Its all about smart attitude.

Maybe I'm too old, but I'll try once more.

Your door cards look superb. Its notoriously difficult fot a trimmer to reproduce the original look of a BMW OEM door card, but your trimmer has done exactly that.
Door trims are difficult to find in mint condition.
If your trimmer has the skills to reproduce, in leather, the original trim, then the contact would be of value to your fellow zoners.

Wtf? Now im really confused are you being sencere or are you actually taking the pi ss? 8O

I actually cant tell anymore so ive removed my comments as i may have read yours in the wrong context and replied inappropriately.

And just incase i apologize for any offence caused, im just trying to show my newly dyed doorcards off

Perhaps i may bitten a bit too hard

This could be Zone Gold.

Jim, there are people on here mate that have broken or worked on more e30's than most have had hot dinners. Many have been around them since they were new. They WILL know the difference between a vinyl doorcard and a leather one. And thats not so much down to experience here, rather that there's a mile of difference between an OEM leather card and a vinyl one.

OK so you say the car was retrimmed? I have met Z3I a couple of times now and the guy is FAR from a p1ss taker. He is all about OEM and almost perfection when he comes to his cars. Therefore without even speaking to him, I can tell you he really would like the name of the trimmer any future work.

So before that rear bench get dyed today, lets have a photo of the rear of a door card. Now is the time you can recover the situation rather than continue to alienate yourself :D

My view? The car may have had a retrim but my moneys on the fact only the seats were done cos them doorcard look well and truly standard vinyl convertible fare. But please prove us wrong.

Wow this is thread is full of LOL! I guess I'm the only other one that can clear up this whole door card issue! IIRC the door cards aren't leather. The rear quarters definitely aint, they have been colonised. If it is still there Jim in the history file there should be an invoice IIRC from A or B trim etc. who retrimmed the seats and colonised to match. I hope this clears this up, we can move on with our lives and we can look forward to the future! :D

Not suggesting that the thread should be either locked or binned, but that some zoner's should be thinking before hitting 'submit'...a 'team member' making an appearance with a suitable warning is what is required!
