Why?
The dash is the worst thing about the e36, I love the e30 dash. I you were going to all that effort you
Might aswell stick an e46 one in as it's about a million times nicer than the e36.
They've even kept the gash wood trim

cheers,
harry

Its a cup holder, because only a gay would do this to an E30
I think the favourite dash swap for golfs is an E30 dash is it not?

e30 dash's are smart in the vws agreed
all the crackless dashes are in the mint examples owned by zoners really aren't they. the old rs turdbo's all have rippled a pillar trims and a cracked dash as standard too. Why do they crack and split? Heat from the sun?
I'll check with the manager

I put a corrado dash into my MK2 golf.
Then I go annoyed with a rattly pain in the arse, so I ripped it out and put a mk2 dash back in.
Thought that was rank so put a MK4 polo one in there.
That was shite and made of recycled coffee cups so ripped that out and fitted a corrado one properly.
That time it involved fabrication of a support for a full adjustable corrado steering column, fibreglass heater pipes, custom wires for the heater controls and a FULL loom swap from early to late spec to make the clocks work properly.
What a twat I was at 21!
Looked good though.......

Guys so it's fine to do all theses engine conversions but not a dash... you can't have it both ways! really it's a personnel choice.
They don't make bm's like this anymore!..They should.

you don't have to look at an engine.
people are just giving their opinions, and clearly the vast majority who have responded don't like the e36 dashboard.
and yes, it is a personal choice, which is why i'd rather leave e36 dashboards in e36s, and e30 dashboards in e30s. crazy i know

cheers,
harry

I would never even consider a dash swap in an E30, just thought id raise the point about the engine.
I look at mine.

an engine conversion generally has a purpose. to make the car faster at what theyre designed to do.
changing a dash wouldnt even feature in the top 100 list of tings to do for me. utterly pointless. each to his own i suppose.
