so many e30 problems are common but take too long to fix or too much money to investigate or fully sort out, so here are some quick fixes i thought up for the masses for common e30 problems.....
whining diff? - turn up the stereo
water in footwell? - wear flip-flops
(...any other suggestions?

Mine's held together with electrical tape. But Gaffer/Duct tape would work better...

Didn't someone (smithy318i, IIRC) use their windscreen washer pump as a temporary replacement for when his fuel pump packed up?!

Broken drivers door lock, climb in through passenger side
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Drivers side electric window motor jammed/sticking? Open door and slam it while holding the window switch down.

As above but passenger side. Have to hold down the 'down' button and tap the 'up' button to make it go down

I had a trans-am with the bottom of the doorcard removed and a 15mm spanner in the centre pocket.. if you wanted the drivers window open you had to hold down the switch and tap the motor with the spanner.. I spent a good few thousand on the engine, drivetrain and having the paint sorted out.. never did fix that window though...

in fairness there's very little effort transferred via that assy
gravitational resistance vs spring load will overcome any issues unless you're aggressively rallying it, like me

To be fair I can't claim this as my own work - my best mate did this epic bodge to his Mitsubishi FTO - could quite easily be done on an E30 though

Brake sensor warning light on - cover with a bit of black electrical tape. More warning lights on - use a longer bit of tape

Glovebox torch knackered or missing? Just remove the centre console and there's sure to be one lying underneath.
