Main options for seats are leather or cloth. These tend to come up from time to time as a lot of people break their cars or upgrade from cloth to leather, obviouly standard BMW colours. Most popular colours I have seen tend to be black for leather and grey for cloth
I had standard cloth seats in my 316 and got them retrimed. If you go down the retrim option then the world is your oyster. I went for a non standard blue tweed which looked very nice. Leather wise if you retrim you can choose any colour out there.
Personally when the time comes ill change the standard grey cloth seats in my 325i for grey sports seats.

2 basic types of interior:
Sports...with Recaro fronts
Comfort
In each type they can be either cloth or leather
Huge variety of colours in the cloth...Lux cars had velour comfort interiors all with rear armrest
Most others had tweed style cloth
Leather an option on all models
Remember there are also 4 actual models:
2dr saloon/cab
4dr saloon
touring
M3
M3 Evo sport had different front seats.
Not sure what interiors the Baur cabs had, but suspect they are std 2dr bits...
Front headrests std on all models...
Rear headrests an option on all.
Leather came with leather door cards, too
motorsport cabs had additional leather trim on centre console
all motorsport models (318is, 325 sport and M3) are supposed to have black headlining (as opposed to grey)..

fashion...lol
no it's fUshion (like cushion, with an F)
Thanks for the correction on the cab interiors...don't have a lot to do with cabs, so never really had an opportunity to investigate...
Do you know if the Baurs had standard 2dr interiors, though?

never seen a baur but i would imajine they are same as coupe, as they effectively were a modified 2 door. the cab has a narrow rear seat to fit the roofy bits in there. and the front seats do not recline all the way as they would hit the extra strength memebers. that said they will all front seats will fit in any car, and if you can be bothered they can be modified to recline, and a four door car front seat can be modified to fold down to allow passengers into the back (you just need some cable and the coupe seat side panels with the lever). so just because you have a 2 door and see a four door with a nice set of seats, a few hours work will have them reclining!

Seeing as were playing teacher..
The lux didn't have the rear arm rest
And rear head rests were standard on the lux.
318is didn't have black headlining as standard, though there are a few out there with it, (E30 Mark) perhaps they were trying to clear some stock!
