My 325 Touring was stolen today from Theale (nr Reading) train station car park. Last saw it at 0720 and it had gone by 0625.

Reg is F56RRD, it's pretty identifiable on black 15" BBS OE wheels with silver centres, black kidney grill etc.

Please keep a look out :)

Got a few pics on FB but can't link to them.

Really gutted as I loved that car! I'd just fully refurbed a set of BBS too.

Not expecting to see it again. Any damage is likely to write it off due to the value.

Know the car well , Had a fortune spent on it by the guy terry bought it off , He was very "anal" if thats the word and everything had to be right on the car
Last i heard after terry sold it was ant had it and removed the immobiliser then another zoner had it and replaced wings and roof skin and was near mint then was up for sale again
Terry was gonna buy it back but the ad was removed from pistonheads and was never seen again
You are correct where you say triggers broom about the engine if you have the history terry had
Will ask about down my way and get my bro to keep an eye out as hes near swindon
Hopefully its found in one piece mate

Thanks guys.

Keep an eye out for anyone breaking a white touring or offering a set of satin black 15" bbs with Khumo winter tyres on!

No news yet from the police.

Sorry to hear about this, seems the E30 is becoming the ever increasing vehicle of choice for theft purposes at the moment. Probably not helped by parts prices and increased values.

Looks like we need to consider devious security means to combat this.

Hope it finds its way back to you soon.

sorry to hear about your touring. did you have any security on it? i think we all should find out the best systems out there to protect our pride and joys. i hear that immobilisors are easy to bypass via the indicator and tin foil!!! i dont understand how though. i would advise taking the steering wheel off if your leaving it somewhere for long periods. hope it turns up in one piece.

I know Theale Station, I'm surprised theres no camera's there, at that time there would have people at the Station, theres alot of offices/warehouses surrounding it, there must be lots of cctv around.

Gutted for you mate, sounds like a lot of love has gone into the car. I go through that area quite often in the lorry so if I see it on the road I'll block it in and have a word

To update... The car has still not been found!

I've now settled with the insurer too.

For everyone's info, the car was an 1988 F plate with 216k on but a shed load of history. It was in pretty good condition too. I'm sure the rust was setting in though. The MOT had lapsed 3 weeks prior to it being stolen and with the new baby at home (an actual baby.. not another car!) I'd totally forgotten about it.
The Ins co tried to argue that because of the age/mileage/lack of MOT, that it was worthless and that they would just give me the £250 to clear my excess. In the end, I argued this up to £1100 after providing the history and examples from here and Pistonheads.

So, if you see a set of recently refurbed satin black 15" BBS with centre caps or any other parts from a white touring... they may be from my car!!

(I'll have a few bits going up for sale soon too, got to clear out.)

Thanks Adi. I'd had the wheels I bought from you refurbished in satin black and they looked sweet. They had kumho winter tyres on too so quite distinctive.

Yes, it was seen on CCTV, they watched the guy steal it! Took him about 20 mins to do it. 5 mins having a look around, then 15 mins in the car and under the bonnet before driving off in it.
It's not much help though. Hood up means you can't make him out.

I just can't believe it hasn't been found dumped/crashed/burnt yet.

It's a commuter station. Ticket office closes at 10am and very little activity from then until 4ish.

Still, over a grand for a rusty touring with no mot and big miles isn't the end of the world.
