Rubbish, easy enough job, unless it's an M3. Needs three people though.
Pull out the locking strip, go all around the screen and loosen the rubber up a bit, then sit on the front seat with your feet up against the screen and ease it out. This is where the other two people come in. To catch it as it comes out.
Refitting can be done with a loop of string running around the seal in where the body fits. The idea is, as you pull the string out, it pulls the rubber lip with it and into place.
Or you can refit the glass into the rubber using flat blade screwdrivers and lubricant.
There's a special tool which makes very quick work of refitting the locking strip, but it can be done with the screwdrivers and lubricant.
Get your fresh screen from a scrappy - good practice for removing it.

yes guys. a fairly straight forward job but very fidely.

not worth doing if your inexperienced, i remember back in the old days(2001) i had to change a winscreen on one of my e30"s, i cracked 2 of them in succesion.

if your gonna take one out at a scrappy take a stanly knife , pull the plastic strip off and just cut the windscreen rubber , it reduses the risk of craking it takeing it out
