Any idea where I can source a wing in colour??

Hi guys,

been looking for a n/s/f wing in sterling silver for months now, but to no avail. Looked here, e-bay, gumtree, scrappys etc, but no luck.

Any specialist places I can try? I can't afford to get one sprayed unfortunately...

There was a bodyshop on ebay selling new panels sparyed to the colour of your choice and delivered to your door, IIRC it was around £120 per wing inc delivery.

I'm guessing you've already tried a wanted ad on here..

You could try www.partsgateway.co.uk they've found me items for my E30 in the past as they have all the big BMW breakers signed up.

with pattern parts- is it not a bit iffy buying painted ? as they arnt always bolt on-fit perfect, and need a bit of lining up etc etc and liable to mess the paint up ? or... is it bolt on fit perfect every time ?

It's always advisable to offer-up a pattern part before painting as it might not fit to your standards.

A secondhand wing is £20-£45 and to get it painted would be £60ish or rattle cans would be £25-£40 depending on the amount of paint you want to coat it in.

Or just keep waiting for that perfect wing to come up.

There is a body shop in Orpington somewhere that charges £100 per panel repair&paint

in edmonton (north london) there is a shop that sells cans of spray paint for £12.50 i have use one i have never done it before and was shocked how easy it was and a realy good match

I used to be able to get rattle cans in/with the paint code. Shop's gone now

As far as i remember it was £12.50 a can too. I think i still have a can of Montana green i the shed

paints4u.com do rattle cans in your cars color , and touch up paint tins etc, they are very good service
