Have you tried to operate the starter motor by linking together pins 11 and 14 of the diagnostic socket ?
might sound daft but on pre-face I have had the ignition switch fail ?

/\ which is very easily done! theres TWO big power cables that attatch under the 13mm nut on the starter motor. Its easy for the one which runs straight across the bulkhead from the positive terminal to be forgotton. Namely because its black in colour! The other is red so is always put back on.
Sounds like your problem to me.

Mmmm! That could get quite interesting when the free end of the cable touches the servo body!whipsey wrote:thats the exact problem i had simon the one that go's from the battery across the bulkhead had managed to get pushed behind the servo
You remove a starter motor with a socket and ratchet, using an extension bar just longer than the starter motor. The bolt heads on the gearbox side just need to be held still.

1 on the 10mm nut, 1 on the 8mm nut and TWO on the 13mm.
You don't need to take the starter off, just look in the engine bay!
