Help!
I have a Tech 1 Sport which requires two new rear wings. The car registration is 'E' which is 1988 (correct me if wrong) and I've always considered the car to be a pre-facelift but I am now begining to wonder. Hadrians provide two different rear wing profiles, one pre-1987 and one post 1987 which would indicate that my car is a facelift?! ~ are you confused yet?
What I don't want to do is order the wrong wing. Can anyone confirm from my description that my car is pre or post facelift?
(I appreciate that the car could have been bulit in 1986 and then registered in 1988)
Thanks
Scott

The facelift actually came out in Sept 87 i believe for the '88 model year. Hence the reason the panels are pre and post '87. However, being a tech 1 sport it could well have been registered later as the tech 2 sport did not come till a bit later. Anyone wanting a sport in early 88 would have had to settle for a tech one if they could find one.

Hello Al, hope you and the misses are well.
My E30 is now a dedicated track car (sorn) and in need of a bit of TLC having spent the last 24 months being hammered around various tracks up and down the country. I've just ordered new rear wings, a pair of fronts (second hand) and a new exhaust. I'm meant to be at Oulton Park for the 12th Feb but its looking unlikely.
The car is run on a tight budget and as such continues to run stock mechanicals. The only mods have been an H&R Cup kit, short shift conversion and some tyres. I pull the car now with a VW T5 Transporter
I take it you've still got yours!!

Cheers, we're both well, you and the family?
Mine's still going strong, c/r sport g/box in, stainless exhaust and mani, running on LPG which makes the fuel costs comparable to a runabout.
I'm hoping to get back to the ring this year for a long weekend, and hoping to get up to croft first (mini nurburgring). But i've got a few things to do to it first.
Transporter must be cool for towing, how's that on fuel with the car behind?

Your car sounds great Al, did you notice any real gains from the exhaust and manifold? do you know how loud it is?
LPG sounds interesting too, I take it you intend on keeping the car for some time then. My Dad has bought an absolutely mint pre-facelift 325i which could benefit from LPG ~ did it cost much?
My family are great, the children are now 2 & 4yrs old which is crazy. The T5 is not the greatest on fuel due to it being the big 2.5ltr diesal version which I wanted for its towing ability. I reckon your looking at 30-35mpg when towing. I intend to return to the Ring one day but can't see it happening for severall years yet when we'll incorporate it into a family camping holiday
.
I havn't done Croft but it looks great on Youtube!!
take it easy mate.
