can anyone answer a few things on the e30 m3

can you buy front wings for an e30 m3 ?

are the wings steel ?

can they be fitted to an e30 325i ?

are the rear quarter blowen out arches on e30 m3 formed from steel with the quarter panel or are the arches fitted to standard e30 quarters ?

anyone know where e30 m3 front wings ad rear quarters or arches can be sourced

or a description of front wings and rear quarters

thanks

im guessing these are an after market body kit type application

am i right in thinking the original m3 cars would have steel formed rear quarters ?

or am i wrong

If you're making a replica, have a close look at the angle of the rear screen and the differences in the bootlid.

does that mean the boot lid is also differant ?

what do you mean by rear window angle ?

its a rally car build want the m3 looks but the light weight panels mostly

exchanging boot bonnet wings will relly help reduce weight

i had noticed there seems to be a raised like platform on the m3 original car pics of boot lid

correct about the raised rear platform

if you want to build a light weight car then all the relevant panels can be bought off the shelf in fiberglass. i wouldnt worry too much about the rear screen angle or the boot lid. just use a fiberglass one and get the m3 quarters and wings on if thats what you want

personally i'd forget about the M3 stuff, just work with what you have and invest the money on plexi glass, some very light seats and light but strong multi point cage lighter srtonger wheels eg compomotive MO's .

the weight savings that the wings offer is maybe 2kg. so £ per Kg lost its hardly worth it imo

^^ These rear quarters are more suitable for a Convertible M3 replica (note in the pic he's trying one against a cabby)...

Yes.
The rear window angle is shallower for aero. There's a large extension fixed on. See my sig.
Pointless

If you're running on carbs, then you'll want the set-up off the E21 323i with the shaft drive distributor on the side of the block (under the carbs).

Have a look at these from E21:

and
http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E21/S ... _camshaft/
and
http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E21/S ... stributor/

and compare to these from the E30:

and

I have ALL of the parts to convert a standard E30 shell to M3 body. Including front and rear bumpers, coupe side skirts, front wings, M3 specific doors, rear quarters, bootlid AND the VERY RARE NLA REAR C POST/WINDOW ASSEMBLY ! :D

Parts are available seperately OR I will do a deal as a job lot .

Ad will be in the classifieds with pictures in the next few days.
