Thinking about building a bit of sleeper.

Maybe a few makes it sound like loads. It's more like one or two S5x Chromies.

Danthe's 3.2 Alpina lump is basically a S52 motor if that counts.

Pre-facelift car with an S50/4, that sounds lovely, just a ordinary chromie on the outside, & on the inside....

i wanted to put a s50 into a chromie  the problem i had was finding a good e30 shell, never mind a good pre face lift. after looking at many rotten turds i went for the cleanest shell i could find, and that happened to be a late 318 iS, and the rest is history :D

Like wise, I wanted an early chromie shell for the S50 and was struggling to find a good shell full stop. It was only then that I found the M3. As much as the M3 will be good, I will miss the stealth tactic that I used to get with the 318i shell.

I've got my eye on a car - it's a c plate, in light green and complete with AA badge on the grille!

Awesome, that would make such a sleeper.

I was even tempted to get some 15" or 16" steel wheels banded to 7 or 8 inch wide so I could run wheel trims :o

My thoughts exactly, the rusty steels it's on at the moment look great, but might be a little narrow.

To be fair though S50 in an M3 is still a sleeper.. Even if the shell is more noticeable, it will be much quicker than anyone would expect!!

Oh I couldn't agree more Dan. It's the engine that should have always been in there. Shitty 4 pot was never going to cut it!

I know, but having the ability to be the ultimate smug git at trackdays and try and convince people it really was a 318 was awesome, especially after you had pissed all over their Elise :o
