Need some advice please if anyone can help

Possibly buying a 325 sport that's in need of welding on the jacking points, anyone know of a good place in the London/Essex area?

I've not actually seen how bad the rust is and never needed a car welding before but is this usually an expensive job?

cheers for any help

hi stu! check the other areas for rot aswel while your there mate... scutle panel, battery trays in boot, bulkhead, inner arches ect ect. these cars normally go from the inside out!!
also be very careful especialy being a sport cos often people take the kit panels off for some reason or another and find that the kit has hidden a whole lot more the eye could not see. i dont want to scare you,, more pre warn you as i got bitten with a rotter before i found mine which has a very nice shell. that is the most important rule when buying these!!
any pics of the said car?? we may be able to help you.
welcome to the zone by the way - Ant

Thanks for the reply, i've been told it has a bit by the battery tray so that's another area, i'm possibly going to have a look on Sat so will try to grab some pics then

I'm more than willing to spend a bit of cash on getting rust sorted just not bundles if you get what i mean

I can always buy and break, it's got a mint interior and panels so i'll see what's what and get some pics up

cheers

best thing mate...is search out old threads using the search function "buying an e30" "whta to look for " "buying guide" and things like that , also search the same on google

do your homework- a few hours online reading gathering knowlege about these cars,might/will save you a fortune, then go armed to the teeth with what to look for, and maybe a check list writted down...go through it and tick them off etc

good luck, and post up pics !

also when looking at the car dont be afraid to ask to pull back some carpet to check behind for rust!

+1

Likewise in the boot. Pull back the boot trim for the sides and check the inner arches.

The more welding you get done in one go, the better value you will get!
