Hi,

I'm picking up on the e34 M5 project i started a few months back. I'm struggling to find anyone who makes manifolds and exhausts. I have found loads of companies that will do manifold back.

I have the origional but the rear 3 pipes are a bit bent. Just to get the car started i needed to heat and bend them to get them round the steering colomn.

I'm based in the midlands but dont mind travelling. Any help would be great.

BTB or Hayward & Scott, but you will need plenty of lube when you find out the price of this stuff

If you can locate a guy who is a mobile welder, you may get lucky with this.

I have tried loads of different welding type people. Problem i have is that the rear 3 pipes need to bend in a completely different way to what they do now (if that makes any sense.)

Yes it does,I've looked in admiration at zoner's conversions, and the exhaust manifold is always the difficult bit.Getting a custom one made is certainly one answer, but will be costly, unless there is already a pattern.

My thoughts were trying to find an experienced welder/fabricator who could come to you for a day and work his magic!

I tried and failed to make a manifold for my M50 conversion, but I struck lucky,I discovered that HM Custard and Exercise owed me more than £3k,so I went straight to Fritz Bits and bought my way out of the problem.... winkeye

well i'm hoping it wont be too pricey as the front 3 pipes are all good. As it is it works but its a bt hill billy and i have ground a load of the alley steering link. Plus when you get it really sideways on lock the engine pins the steering wheel. Thats fun winkeye

I would also give BTB a bell. Pricey, but done well. They generally make racing manifolds, so expect top quality, perfect noise and more performance.

Never heard of Hayward & Scott so can't comment on them.

Cheers for all the advice,

ive gone with Hayward & Scott, they are making the manifold and exhaust to my exact spec (which other compaines didnt want to do because it was more work) collecting the car 150 miles from them and dropping it back.

its deffo a big wack but i didnt think £2000 was out of the way for a branded custom exhaust.

9M Racing in Warrington will do one (http://www.ninemeister.com/), but once again...big bucks.

Just behind the midland performance center is the man I used a few times. Can't remember his name but he is the old fart in the orange boiler suit.

Work is outstanding. be it inlet, tb's or custom exhaust manifolds, Phone or pop down to see paul or ashley and they will introduce you.
