hmm. this was removed from a pre-facelift 325i. looked like it had been there from factory as underneath it was immaculate (white). optional extra? perhaps worth keeping hold of then..unless someone really desires it!

thanks

It's the same part as on e30 diesels. Obviously they share unrefined loudness in common with the M3 as the part is described as a 'SOUND ABSORBER'.

they do finish the bay of perfectly and hide any of that crappy sound proofing foam. I think i read somewhere the clips are also NLA, however e36 share similar if not the same clips. I cant find much info on here about them so i'll fit it to mine and post a pic

You may get more for it now but just remember is's only sound proofing, not a rare alpina vent gauge...

true, but seeing as though it is NLA, if i sell it, down the road i may want to source one again and seeing as though ive never come across one before, id kick myself if i couldnt get hold of one, especially if i only sold it for the e.g. £50 you said.

I hear what your saying, if I had the space I'd be hoarding a lot more. One day most of the parts we try and get for a few £'s will end up serious £££££'s when BM make them NLA

I bought mine some years ago for £30 and you need an awful lot of clips ...which were available from the dealer ...looks better than scraggy foam 8)

it is used but in good condition.
according to etk it is discontinued from 15.07.1988, then was
replaced by 51 48 1 979 801 (NLA from 20.01.1989) and by 51 48 8 103 380 (NLA from 28.02.2006)

Some 324dt/d also had them

M3/320iS had different shape and P/N 51 48 1 943 242 (NLA from 03.11.1988) and 51 48 1 979 952 (NLA from 23.05.2007)
