Cabby front seats different?
Moderator: martauto
Are cabby front seats higher than in saloons? The top of the steering wheel blocks the view of the speedo and rev counter(It's a bus style 385mm wheel). The rear adjustment isn't as much either. Can this be increased by removing a stop or something?I owned an 86 320i and an 89 325i many years ago ,both 2 doors and could get comfy in both, but not in my new 92 cabby.....

there are two differences between cabby and tin top seats is
1. on the sport seats the length of the seat base tilt and seat base height levers are longer to clear the thicker interior sill cover.
2. the seat back does not recline fully, as again it will foul on the rear under seat cross member in a cab - this can be removed as its only a plastic stopper.
as above it seems like you have the sport seat adjusted in its upper and forward most height position.

I managed to get the seat base 1 notch lower by kneeling at the side of the car. I don't think they'd been adjusted since new. My backside isn't sports seat shaped unfortunately .
