bally i know you like to use your car a s daily driver not sure if you do any more. but if you do i think it could be time to have it as a toy and leave it as it is and for what it is. an 80's retro classic with out creature comforts

buy a newer car with drinks holders :D

i'm all for some up grades and modernising but adding shit like drinks holders is going a bit far? and will clutter what is already a tight cabin.

on the original pics, as dan pointed out they are gauges. the only cup to drink from is the furry one but i bet its not that furry winkeye

Why o why o why do people keep asking about drink holders in e30's? Its very american... A can fits hapily in the door why do you need more than that?

its hardly the kind of car to cruise around in with a latte by your side :D

If you want cup holders buy some modern trash like an e39 or a mondeo

E30 - none
E39 - two front (fragile) two rear (always broken)
E46 - none in the front, touring has two in the rear centre armrest which are useless unless you're a rear seat passenger with anorexia.

An aftermarket drinks holder for the E30 would be great :)
Item number 5 in the link.

E46 front double cup holder. I have one in my coupe and it works well, no flimsy bits to break like on an E39.

Only down side is that the centre arm rest has to be raise to fit a cup in the rear one.

I agree a 100% the e30 cabin is no place for a shitty looking cup holder.

Why not use the time spent drinking the coffee to stand back and admire you car? No chance of it spilling inside and no need for a cup holder. :D

A trick ive done is remove the tape holder, it just squeezes a mcdonalds cup enough to stop it spilling, or it can hold 4 cans of monster

i only drink cartons of Ribena in my E30, better than coke/coffee/red bull and they fit perfectly into the door pull/ribena holder and never fall out.

also a handy passenger Ribena holder too.

It all about the juice!

I have fitted the below cup holders on both doors. When the holder is open the top of the door pocket supports the lid, although this is not necessary, just neat  When they are closed the holder is about 1cm thick so street directorys and maps can still go in. Most people have thought they are standard BMW fittings as they look like they are meant to be there.

Lino!?! - With a walnut gearknob like that?? come on, it is closer to an ol english flagstone..,.

I have done over 300 coffee miles now, and can't just "get out of the car and look at it everytime i want to have a coffee" - I use mine as a daily and drive over 400miles a week, so sipping a hot bever, as American as it sounds gives one hell of a comfort sitting in traffic at 7am.

Also, now that i am doing more miles, i have forced myself to get 'into' driving at 65mph on the motorway for MPG, this is ordinarily boring, but with a coffee, some relaxing bombay bicyle club and a soothing massage of adoring on-lookers, cruising at 65mph at 35mpg has never felt so good.

Eating and drinking in a car is the height of council activity, only out councilled by smoking !

In the Werthers' advert, the creepy old guy only gives worthers originals to young boys - what exactly do you mean by "get lucky"?!?

Alas Rob, my 'harvesting' days are over :( I have been issued with a lifetime ban. Apparently an earlybird £4.99 combo deal does not entitle one to 18 visits to the salad bar ! :o

A hyperactive girl with hot coffee is pretty distracting whilst your driving - look at her trying to give directions! for fucks sake, she doen't even know her left from right, probably never will - I wouldnt spec that in my car thats for sure.
