it would of been better if they had 3 cabbies and did a challenge in them...like drive to nurburgring .have 500 quid to modify them(god knows with what though he he) and then race em or something..it is good entertainment but even jezza willl know that there is a big following on the e30 scene so i dont think he will go over the top and he did at some point in one episode say about a newer bmw that they were nowhere near as fun as the proper twin headlight bmws....

As i was the first to bring the news of the E30 TG feature two months ago i thought i would find out a bit more about it!!!!

I payed a visit to my info source and found some more info about the feature!

The feature is to buy and modify one for £1500 (like the old Porsche/Alfa challenges)

Clarksons cabrio is a black auto cabrio with an M tech kit!

Despite the other two cars being manuals, Clarksons lap was 7 secs faster than the others!

Clarksons cabrio was lowered using concrete in the boot!

And most importantly ALL THREE CARS WERE ABLSOLUTE NAILS THAT IF MOT'D WOULD HAVE FAILED MISSERABLY!!!!

Stories of head gaskets blowing and hoods not properly latching and the general bodging to keep them going!

The apparently is an E93 325i Cabrio involved as well.

NOW PEOPLE GET A GRIP!!!!

The three turds are obviously weighbridge fodder and as has been mentioned, better cars have been fragged on this very forum by many people, myself included!

All this speculation on weather they will portray the E30 in a bad light is just that, speculation!

Remember the old Porsche challenge where they had a 924, 944 and 968?

I dont think that harmed their reputation to much?

Same with the old Alfa challenge!

All those people who say "I wont watch it just out of principle" WILL watch it weather on the tv or later on youtube purely out of curioisity.

I actually can't wait for this episode, should be a good laugh. And like has been said plenty of zoners frag decent E30's, and where's the fun in that... They just make a quick buck.

The E30 is nothing special nor will it ever be, it's an 80's car that has a small following in the 21st century.

TG see it as entertainment and it will be entertaining seeing 3 rot boxes that were once labelled as "mint" on eBay, get a grip and watch it as entertainment.

The E30 scene is not as big as the VW scene, I was amazed when I went to DC10 at how big the VW scene actually is, it really did open my eyes
