I've used my E30 as a daily driver for the last 4 years but the time has come to have a cheap run around as I can no longer afford my hefty fuel (and garage!) bills :(

I don't have the heart to scrap or sell so will be SORN-ing her and finding somewhere to store her for the next couple of years hence I was wondering if you had any recommendations for good car covers? Are there any E30 specific ones I can get?

My new boring sensible car arrives at the end of the week so if you see a depressed looking lady driving a Yaris flashing her lights at your E30, thats probably me

Google monsoon covers that's what I have, seems to be a good quality cover that's strapped on underneath and stays in place. Most companies ask for a model but I think it's never going to be a 'glove' fit, probable so some air can get in there. Think it was about £130ish

The breathable is cheap but it will let water through.. I've tried quite a few <£30 car covers and have been shocked by the poor quality and how long they last!

My cars been off the the road for 2 years now and I'm actually on the 4th! Which is a combination of a breathable which ripped after 6 months and a PVC type cover over the top that the cat has already clawed holes in..

If your serious about making sure she's comfortable, I wouldn't skimp!

tbh i brought a cheap £13 quid one of ebay and it states its for a e30! And it works perfectly fine! never lets any water in and seems durable. For £13 you can't go wrong! :P

i woudl be careful with covering it for long periods. some poor sod on here covered his cabby over winter and found shitloads of damage and rust when he removed it. you need to remove the cover regularly to let everything dry out, cover included.

tezk - that was my concern, at the moment she is sitting on the driveway whilst I source a suitable man with a barn for a more permanent solution, I may pick up a cheapy one for the next couple of months then take it from there.

god-father88 - at that price, even if it only lasted a month I can't really complain! :D

brettski - ooh that would be fab for once she is in a barn - pm coming your way

(edit to add - I missed this first time round!)

That is something I hadn't really considered - duly noted now though!
