Do we like tourings more than other E owners

Like - the tourings - nice silver tech II with bbs does it for me. Think the cab comments are way out of line and got to support Rav on this one.

I hated my touring and as soon as i could get it to a reasonable condition i was going to sell it and buy another saloon/coupe but now no way i love it its sits better than a coupe and because of the weight distribution i think it handles alot better as well + i get more camping stuff in it
town you were the one that made me keep it so and it been worth it so far.
also wife now wants a e46 touring which we are now looking for.

I'm completely blown away by the combination of practicality, style and handling with my new touring. I used to dismiss them a bit but am now a firm convert to the load space brigade

ive allways liked the touring and need mine for the practicality as its my only car and ive got two kids, my first e30 was a 2 door and while it was a good car it just didn't give me the options that the touring gives me and it just seemed like everything was a compromise

+1 on the tourings.
its my only car, daily driver, and has a really reliabe m42. handles great and has carried my tool box with ease to every Britcar and carrera cup meet this year. its currently getting the paintwork sorted out so it look even nicer before it rots away over the winter

Touring FTW
IMO it's the best looking E30 bodystyle apart from the M3, but then i wouldn't have an M3 as a daily driver, and i can't afford one!

Another for the touring! I was after an iS, this had a slight tip and a m42 + I like the colour. Have no regrets what so ever buying it! I love it, seats down and there's plenty of room, bike fits without taking of the wheels. She's not mint but that will be worked on over the next few months.
I just need nice black chromie to with the touring and I'll be happy (and a m3 if I win the lotto)

Tourings have their place. My second E30 was a Touring and I loved it . I've had loads of Tourings of all guises over the years.
My current family wagon is an E46 330i Sport Touring with a manual box and soon to be fitted ASA Supercharger. Will be a nice sleeper. E46 saloon has got to have the nastiest rear end after the current 6 series

There's a red M3 touring as well somewhere, much better than the blue one, it has a S14 in it...

tourings all the way!!! I love mine and my 3yr old sone loves the amount of space is in it compared to my mrs compact maybe its the rear over head cabin space. I would never sell it although i get at least 2 people a month offering to buy it off me.
"Council" each to there own i say its your motor do what u want to it!! Keeping it std is boring tbh!

I like the touring, great practical fun. Ideal world is to own a 2dr weekend toy and a touring as an every other day car for shopping trips etc. I think rather than sell mine i may end up keeping and repairing it when i get the time again, oh well

I, too, love my Touring.
It's a 325, goes well enough for me when pushed and, when driven carefully, I get 32MPG overall (though I do a lot of motorway miles in it).
Last week I managed to bring home a 3m copper pipe and this week an interior door inside it, (It seems I gotta spend some time on the house as well), I can fix it myself, parts are plentiful, it's different. And right at the moment, probably 'cos I've spent lots of time on it recently, it is purring.
Yes. I have needed to swap some of the seats and replace the headlining. And the tailgate sometimes leaks. But if I had to change it and couldn't find another Touring, I'd choose a cabbie.

Unheard of! Something is definitely in need of replacement or adjustment.KimH wrote: And the tailgate sometimes leaks. .
Have to say the touring is by far my favourite shape e30,would even go so far as to say i much prefer tourings of any e number over their saloon/coupe/cab conterpart.Ive had two e30 tourings and now have an e36 328 touring, all have been fantastic cars for me.May even have another e30 touring shortly too for the wife

Replacement; the usual rear wash dumping water inside the motor gearbox problem. I ended up with 4 used Wiper motors before I found one that didn't leak.Brianmoooore wrote:Unheard of! Something is definitely in need of replacement or adjustment.KimH wrote: And the tailgate sometimes leaks. .
