Pig of a swap, engine is huge and to get it located properly you'll probably need to bash in the bulkhead. Exhaust manifold needs to be done properly unless you want to lose loads of power, exhaust will probably end up costing you nearly £2k to be done right.

Bottom line is it can all be done, but you'll spunk big money to do it right and 20 year old Mpower engines won't actually last that long with persistent redline action (unless you want to spend another £5k on a rebuild beforehand).

Unless you are getting the engine very cheap and know for a fact it is a good one and also unless you are a fabricator extraordinaire, I'd consider another swap.

I'd love an M5 engine but looking at it realistically if I ever get round to doing a swap on mine I’m gonna pick up a cheap E36 328 and keep things simple

Hartge did a model called H35-24V which was an E30 with an M88 engine available in the standard 2dr shell or the M3 shell. They also did a H36-24V which used the successor to the M88, the S38B36 used in the E34 M5. This was only available in the M3 shell though.

All LHD.

Its not an impossible conversion, just hard work!

A member on here did this conversion using the S38B36

An M88 in a 2dr chrome bumper car with Hartge bits would be awesome!

Basicly an early H35-24V replica.

It would qualify for CR24v membership :)
